5 Interesting 2020 Wedding Terms that You Must Not Miss Out

The idea of a wedding has always fascinated me. The bright hues, festive vibes, Bollywood tunes, and scrumptious food perfectly define Indian weddings. However, Covid times have transformed the word ‘wedding’ in a multitude of ways. Today, we have introduced an array of interesting terms such as micro-weddings and social distancing to describe our unprecedented situation. To add an exciting and fun element to your celebrations, we have come up with 5 words that sum up the experience of getting married in these times. Keep reading to enhance your 2020 vocabulary:

  • Latermoon: Now we have a word for the honeymoon trip you were bound to put off. Latermoon refers to the couple's vacation plan after the cancellation of their honeymoon. As the term says, Latemoon usually takes place after a couple of weeks and months has lapsed from the wedding date. So, how many of you are going on a  latermoon in 2021?

  • Wifelorette: Missed your bachelorette this year? No fret, why don’t you ask your bridesmaid for a wifelorette? Typically, a wifeloretta is a celebration dedicated to a married lady after her wedding. You may plan out a mini-getaway with your gang to Mexico or any place on your travel list. Seems good?

  • Sequel Wedding: The new normal gives you the privilege to throw a second wedding party. Yes, you read that right! Sequel wedding describes the second wedding of you and your partner. In the first nuptial, the guest count is smaller and traditions are followed more flexibly, on the other hand, in the sequel celebrations, everything from the guest list to the menu expands. You may go for a Fairmont Jaipur destination wedding in the latter or a residential wedding under the supervision and guidance of wedding planners in Jaipur, the choice is yours.

  • Micro weddings: Micro weddings are increasingly gaining popularity in today’s world. If your guest list sticks to 50 , then yours is a micro wedding as well.  Intimate celebrations involve close friends and family members. However, there is no compromising on the Indian traditions and rituals which large nuptial promises. Customs are adhered to but relatively on a small scale. For instance: Mr. John and Mrs. Seal are tying knots at a micro wedding in Australia next weekend. In such type of events, you save huge bucks.

  • Minimony: It is a term referred to as nuptials that host up to 10 guests. Generally, such weddings are smaller than intimate affairs. Moreover, the traditions and customs are adhered to in the presence of peers and relatives. These include couples who have exchanged their vows at home at a minimony , with a plan to organize an extravagant reception the following year.

Suppose you and your boyfriend/ girlfriend said '‘I do'’ in a backyard set-up due to the current circumstances. Past wedding, you might zero in on a bigger reception when the normalcy restores to the world. So, how many wedding terms did you already know about? Tell us in the comments below. If you are aware of more such eerie words, update us too.
