Before the Big Day

Weddings are events that take months of planning. Right from the start it involves attention to detail and a whole lot of effort. Therefore it is quite common to be flabbergasted. Spending the rest of your life with your partner, exchanging vows amidst family and friends all seem like a magical event. Nervousness the night before (and the day before) is to be expected. Put all of your focus into finishing these few tasks the night before your wedding, and you'll have peace of mind and a solid foundation for the big day.

Stay Hydrated

Amidst the hustle-bustle of marriage preparations, it is common to be forgetful of basic necessities such as keeping yourself hydrated. As they say, water is the elixir of life and you need to drink plenty of it in order to ensure your skin looks glowing and healthy for the big day. Set reminders on your cell phones and carry a bottle of water wherever you go. Whether it's the parlour or overseeing the mandap decorations, you need to stay hydrated no matter what. This will give you plenty of energy for the big day.

Practice Walking in Your Shoes

The prettiest shoes can often be the most painful to walk in. Therefore we suggest you walk around with your wedding heels and get comfortable so that it will be easier on the day of your wedding. Better still, practise walking in a straight line while wearing the shoes. This will not only help you relax, but it will also help you determine when your wedding shoes will begin to have a tantrum on your feet.

Skin care is a must

As mentioned earlier, wedding planning can be an arduous task. Let that not stop you from performing your skincare routine. Prepping your skin for the big day is an absolute must. This will ensure your skin doesn't break out due to the stress of the big day and make-up glides easily on supple hydrated skin. Apply moisturising night masks. Getting a facial a few days before the wedding is also extremely helpful.

Eat a healthy meal

Binge eating or eating nothing at all is quite common before the big day. This will do more harm than good. For instance if you eat more than you require, you will be faced with bloating, uneasiness and lethargy. On the contrary, eating nothing at all will leave you with no energy, drowsiness and exhaustion. We suggest you eat a healthy meal consisting of loads of fibre, fruits and vegetables. These are not only easy on your stomach, but will leave you feeling energised throughout the day.

Contact your vendors

Go through all the important aspects of the wedding preparations  such as contacting the vendors, event planners and staff just before the wedding. This will keep you informed if any changes have been made and also keep you better prepared to handle any issues that may arise. Keep a checklist of all the things necessary so you can go over them one after the other. Handling situations like this will keep your mind occupied and alleviate stress before the big day.

Pack a bag

It is important that you carry a bag with your personal belongings such as emergency make-up,medicine,band-aids, perfumes, bobby pins, mints, water and so on. Months of planning will not prepare you for sudden faux pas. So we suggest you carry a tiny bag with things that may come in handy on the big day.
